Want A Different Kind Of Vacation? How About A “Finders Keepers” Trip?

This probably won’t remind you of gardening at home, but you’ll want to bring along extra clothing that is appropriate for the exciting part of the trip. The State of Arkansas (in Murfeesboro) is the location of the Crater of Diamonds State Park where you can go prospecting and digging for diamonds. Begin your search for diamonds over a 37-acre field that is plowed. It is the eroded surface of an ancient volcanic pipe that 95 million years ago, brought to the surface the diamonds and some of the semi-precious stones visitors might find. Here’s the link with a lot more information on what you might find and other links for facilities and tourism
